Adriana Is Back!

We haven't seen much from this Brazilian wonder for a while so I thought I'd give you a quick glimpse of her working the Hollywood starlet look, with her new darkened locks, at GQ Magazine's 50th Anniversary party....

Although she's not been in the press much lately, it seems Adriana has been working hard behind the scenes. She recently shot for Vanity Fair with other Victoria's Secret Angels, and it is thought she could take a lead role as the company's 'Sexy Santa' this year, a role previously held by Alessandra Ambrosio and Gisele Bundchen. She will also film the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on November 15th with a host of other catlwalk beauties.

In her personal life, it is believed Adriana could be dating Prince Wence of Lichtenstein again after they broke up late last year - although they were last seen together again in May this year.

Alessandra Shoots Second UK Commercial

Fake snow and a Christmas tree decorated the outside of a Royal Mile pub today as TV cameras rolled for the filming of a new UK-wide Next advert.

Actors breezed in and out the Whiski bar as they showed off the clothing store's winter party dresses. The commercial will be the second in a series that depicts a blossoming romance between Ale, played by South American supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, and Paul Sculfor, the real-life boyfriend of Jennifer Aniston.

They have been filming in Edinburgh all week, with the couple pictured laughing and joking while walking along the cobbled streets of the Royal Mile. It follows the airing on Friday of the first installment of the series, during which the couple met in London.

The Edinburgh Christmas scenes show them on their first proper date together. It's hoped their chemistry will remind people of the Gold Blend coffee adverts. A spokesman said: "It's a story, cut up into two pieces that will entertain as well as convey the brand image."

If you're Alessandra Ambrosio, the face of Victoria's Secret and star of Next's new TV ads, you get someone to speak nicely to Harvey Nichols' personal shopping manager and get the store open after hours.

Stunned security guards stood aside as the Brazilian babe dashed in on Monday with Jennifer Aniston's on-off squeeze, Paul Sculfor, and grabbed all the Chloe and Stella McCartney a girl could carry.

Now THAT is a supermodel. God I love her!

A Model Diet!

You don't get to look this good by eating junk food, so it was no surprise to see Miranda Kerr lunching at an organic food cafe in Bondi Junction yesterday.

After a busy two months gallavanting around the world the New York-based model has been enjoying some much-needed downtime since arriving in town on Monday. As well as catching up on some beauty treatments and shopping, she and her mum Therese enjoyed a quiet meal at Macro Wholefoods Market.

But it's now back to the grind, with the one-time Gunnedah girl busy shooting a Portmans TV commercial until she jets out again on Sunday. But it's not all work. Kerr will also be the VIP guest at a Cleo mag cocktail party at Kings Cross nightspot Hugo's tomorrow night where - in the absence of muso boyfriend Jay Lyon - her mum will again be her date.

Alessandra Out On The Town

We haven't seen this girl for a while, not since her behind car antics back in July, so I thought you'd appriciate I quick update on her! She was out at the Prada Epicenter Party in NYC on Friday night wearing a silver satin dress....other models also at the party were Jessica Hart, Petra Nemcova, Anouck Lepere, Julia Stenger and Hana Soukupova.

Also, while I'm at it, a quick update on Alé's schedule! She's just been in Hawaii shooting with VS for a tv show (airing later this year), she's currently in NYC to shoot for Vanity Fair with the other VS Angels and soon she will visit London; followed by New York, Mexico, Scotland, Miami, LA and NYC....taking her up to October!

New York Fashion Week

We are just over half way through New York Fashion Week, the first of 4 main fashion weeks (NYC to be followed by London, Milan and Paris) in the Spring/Summer 2008 season.

So far we have seen models struting their stuff at shows such as Proenza Schouler, Ralph Lauren, Rosa Cha and Alexander Wang, plus a full host of after parties and promotional events.

One of the most popular events for models so far has been the Calvin Klein Underwear 25th anniversary party, attended by catwalk beauties Miranda Kerr, Natasha Poly, Suvi Koponen, Behati Prinsloo, Angela Lindvall, Liya Kebede, Agyness Deyn, Hana Soukupova, Jessica Miller, Irina Lazareanu, Eugenia Volodina, Doutzen Kroes, Julia Stegner, Raquel Zimmerman, Jessica Stam and Isabeli Fontana, to name a few.

Also polular was the Fashion Rocks concert, where countless stars partied alongside catwalk stunners such as Andi Muise, Tyra Banks and Lydia Hearst. The Missoni party in honour of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe's latest book was similarly packed full of model beauty.

Douzten Passes Her Test!

Top model Doutzen Kroes passed her test yesterday to gain her driving licence. The international model lives in New York, but made the choice to take driving lessons in the much calmer Leeuwarden in her home country of Denmark.

This week she took a lot of lessons to be ready for her examination. Before she started she took off her red high heeled pumps for flat shoes. She tried to keep her mouth shut during the exam, “I’ve tried to shut my mouth cause during the lessons I’ve said all the things that went wrong out loud” says Doutzen.

But nothing went wrong during the exam says examiner Erik Wesseluis. Doutzen will return soon to NY, where she has jobs for to do Vogue magazine.

Doutzen won’t drive in NY, she doesn’t have a car yet! And the traffic is much more hectic and it’s hard to find a place to park the car. For experience she will once in a while return to Friesland.

Once she has experience she wants to drive with some girlfriends across America, from NY to LA (which is about 4500 KM).

Why We All Love Ana!

The Brazilian supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros is the cover of Nova Magazine's birthday issue. Wearing a short white dress, she posed for an editorial to the mag.

Modeling for eleven years, she's one of the most known tops in the fashion world. She was chosen the sexiest woman in the world by the Italian GQ, and the world's most beautiful by the Americans.

She was also the first Brazilian to be in the lingerie brand Victoria's Secret's team, in 1999, followed by Gisele Bundchen, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima.

According to her, the secret to success is to be smart and have personality. "I'm easy to deal with, I don't play the superstar part. Do you know why Kate Moss is considered the best model in the world? Because she's professional, arrives in time, she's simple", she states.

Despite loving her career, she says she plans to assure her old age far from the runways. "My goal is, in some years, to open at Brazil a dermathology clinic with Maria Luiza, with Patricia (her sisters) and a cousin. We get along really well, I love my sisters", she says.

She also doesn't hide the dream of getting married and being a mother, but she says it's difficul to find an understanding partner. "Not every man in the world understands a woman who makes her own money, travels all over the world. I'll not leave my work for a man. I've been raised like this, I don't like to stay still and I love what I do".

VSFS 2007 Announced

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 4 (10:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Victoria's Secret President and CEO Sharen Turney and supermodels Karolina Kurkova and Selita Ebanks announced plans for the new special to press immediately following the ringing of the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange.

Top models appearing in The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will include Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Karolina Kurkova and Selita Ebanks. Hamish Hamilton is the director.

Also, american model Marisa Miller, a long time favourite in the VS catalogs and regular Sports Illustrated fixture ,will make her debut at the VSFS this year.

Rosie Huntington is Top Earner

The catwalk queen from the Westcountry, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, can now name her price when it comes to modelling, according to a top US fashion agency. Women New York, which represents Rosie, says the Tavistock-born model is now one of the highest-earning and most successful models on its books.

The 20-year-old has been called the next Kate Moss and dubbed a leading member of the so-called "artist-rockracy" for dating the son of Rolling Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood.

And according to Chris Gay, spokesman for Women New York, Rosie's career is going from strength to strength. "I would say Rosie is one of the top UK models working today and one of the top earners."

"She has moved to New York and is highly respected in the industry for her attitude. She does do catwalk but most of her work is in print where she is very successful."

Rosie recently did a shoot for Victoria's Secret and Clinique which is a major fragrance.

Rosie's success has taken her all over the world and is a far cry from her upbringing in Devon where she was a student at Tavistock College. Her career started when she was spotted by London-based agency Profile which took her on at the age of 16.

Although she is not yet in the same earning bracket as Kate Moss who reportedly takes around £4 million a year, Rosie can now command tens of thousands of pounds for each assignment.

Her relationship with Tyrone Wood, the 23-year-old son of Ronnie, was the subject of tabloid speculation this week after the pair spent a week at a luxury villa in Ibiza. According to reports in the Daily Mail the £13,500-a-week hotel was burgled and possessions belonging to the pair were stolen.
